Are you dressed....
"The Lord is good to those who depend on him, to those who search for him. " Lamentations 3:25, NLT
"He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection."
Psalm 91:4
These are the verses that I hold onto today.

Recently, I have been faced with some challenging situations. Everyday, there has been an obstacle (or two or three or four...ok you get the point) that I must face. We all do. I am sure you can reflect and Some obstacles are larger than others. None the less, one does not rank higher than another. I don't believe that God says my obstacles are more important than yours or vise versa. It is through the challenges that we draw closer to Him. The more we seek Him, the more we'll find Him.
I need to always be seeking out the Lord in all that I do and in all that I say. Sometimes when things are stressful or tough to say the least, I can't say that the Lord is who I seek first and foremost. I try to, but would be lying if I said that I always do this first.
Suzie dear, a friend of mine, recently said, "there is not a decision I do not make without asking myself is this for the Lord or is it not. It'seither black or white. You are either for Him or not....whether it is a decision on food, money, direction, whatever....it is yes or no." This got me thinking about my daily life. I cannot say honestly that I ask myself that question - is this for the Lord?- with each thing I do in the day. It can seem silly I guess to some....but makes sense to many others. What I thought about is this: Did I ask myself when getting dressed this morning....is this for the Lord? Well no, what does getting dressed have to do with the Lord?
I remember Ruthie dear, another friend of mine telling me that when she was getting dressed and was putting on her jewelry and such that she would claim each piece of clothing and accessory as part of her armor of God.
"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand."
I pictured her as she explained, "when I put on my belt, I think of the belt of truth..."
"Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist,"
"and as I was buttoning my shirt..."
"with the breastplate of righteousness in place"
"then each of my shoes..."
"and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace."
She continued on, even using her jewelry as examples of her clothing of the Lord.

"In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should." (Ephesians NLT)
So now I re-ask myself, what does getting dressed have to do with the Lord....EVERYTHING....!!! IT prepares for the tasks which we will have to handle that day, for the words we will speak to others that day, and to the faith it will take to move thru and stand upon the tasks of the day. It also makes me seek Him out. I am looking for His protection, for His guidance and for His everlasting Love. I have to teach myself to stand before the mirror and ask myself are you dressed for the Lord and are you ready to seek Him today?
