We made it home late yesterday afternoon. It was a long ride home as Raeliegh was excited to see everyone at home. We met the kids at Lisa's house, where they were getting off of the bus. As soon as Corinna saw us, she took off like a rocket towards us, with her eyes full of tears of joy. Next was Maison, and as he rounded the front of the bus to see us, his famous ear to ear smile, was a friendly greeting as he rushed over to us. And finally, Jordan came off of the bus and she too was grinning to see us. It was a nice suprise to all of them to have us there when they got off of the bus.
After making a few stops, we headed home and already saw the aniety and stress levels rise. It had been a week since we were ALL in the same house. So it took a bit of adjusting with one another. Raeliegh was struggling with the adjustment. The tension rose in just a short period of time. We worked our way through it. Paying extra attention to each of the kids, and trying to keep the peace between all of them.
With God's grace, we made it through the evening, dinner, bath and finally bedtime. Tim and I was exhausted.
I can tell that we still need you. We still need yor prayers. The hospital was great in all that they were able to do for Raeliegh. However, the one downfall is that they cannot simulate home settings or classroom settings. So the true test will be over the next few weeks, during which we will see how well Raeliegh will be able to adjust.
We have decided to keep her home until Tuesday, when the kids all go back to school after Labor day break. We felt it was a good thing to let her regroup at home, befor jumping in head first to school too. She will be working on her homework at home with me and this is a definate area of prayer. Frustration level with homework, isat time very intense for her.
Today was a good day for her. She and I met with her doctors this morning and then with her school staff later on. Both times she did very well. We have come up with a plan on how to help Raeliegh when she comes back to school and we all have high hopes for her success.
Prayer for her continued growth in progress. Pray for our strength and wisdom as we go day by day, implementing the new therapies and the new treatments that will help Raeliegh succeed daily. Pray for strength and patience for all of us, as we are adjusting our home life, our schedules, to help make things better for her.
The real "tests" will be in the next few weeks as we go about our days. Thank you in advance for your prayers.
I came across these few verses,
Psalm 18:32 "It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect."
Colossians 1:11 "...being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance."
Proverbs 31:25 "She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come."
