Raeliegh's stay is going well. Her doctors have explained to us that they are very confident in saying that she has Aspergers Syndrome, as well as sensory defensiveness, obsessive compulsive disorder and Tourettes syndrome, all of which go hand in hand with the Aspergers Syndrome.
Here is a link that has more information about it.

There are may great places to go look for information. This information is correct and is simple in explanation.
In one sentence her diagnosis is explained as "High Functioning Autism."
They have started Occupational Therapy with her that includes a strict schedule, with some very unique therapies. She receives a technique called "Brushing" and another one called "Deep Compression Therapy." Both of which are helpful to those with Sensory Defensiveness or Tactile Defensiveness.
For years, Tim and I have tried to explain "these" behaviors. And have been to doctor after doctor in the past couple of years looking or answers. We first thought she was just a high maintenance child, "just like her daddy was" but that just didn't work. We would achieve in some areas and have great challenges in many other areas. We thought it was our parenting style. So Tim and I went thru so much training and therapy to raise a child such as Raeliegh. The more we went on, the greater the challenges became. Getting dressed, eating, off to school, school work, church, social activities, home life and home routines, all proved to be major challenges every single day of her life. We changes her environment. We changed the types of clothes she wore. We changed our eating habits. Little or no improvement. So the enemy crept in telling Tim and I, nothing else explains why Raeliegh is the way she is, it has to be you. Your marriage has been rocky at times, you haven't made the best choices in life, and Raeliegh internalizes all of this. Her behavior is the rsult of you and your choices. Being up here and going thru all that we are everyday; the therapy, the counseling, the treatments, the encouraging words from professionals and from our friends and family back home, has been healing for Tim and I's hearts. We know that it is not and was not us. That God created Raeliegh to be Raeliegh in all ways and all forms. He had placed us here for healing in more ways than just physically. It is encouraging to learn about this syndrome and how we can help Raeliegh live within our family and our community.

The scriptures, the phone calls, the messages, the emails, the texting, and even all of the acts of service that are taking place on our behalf.
